Our story
Portuguese Products has been bringing the food of Portugal to Northern Europe for years: olive oil, wine, salt cod, pastries and — always the first thing people ask about — conservas.
The sardines deserved their own shop. So we built one. SARDINHAS carries only sardine tins, with the same stock, the same prices and the same warehouse as the parent store.
Why Portuguese sardines
Portugal cans sardines the way other countries make wine: by region, by season, by house style. The fish are caught in the Atlantic, hand-packed within hours, and laid down in olive oil to soften and mature.
A good tin is not an emergency lunch. It is a small, keepable luxury that gets better in your cupboard.
How we choose producers
We buy directly from Portuguese canneries — family houses like Nuri, Ramirez, Minerva and José Gourmet among them.
The rule is simple: hand-packed fish, honest labelling, oil we would happily eat with bread. If a tin does not earn its place twice, it leaves the catalogue.
